Micro-soldering in Brussels: iPhone, MacBook and laptop motherboard repair
We repair all major brands

Is your iPhone no longer charging, does your MacBook not switch on after a fall or contact with liquid, does your laptop not start: in many cases the fault is not in the whole device but in one tiny component of the motherboard. Micro-soldering lets us repair that component instead of replacing the whole board, or the device.
What is micro-soldering?
Micro-soldering (or ‘component-level motherboard repair’) means working directly on the tiny electronic components of a board: chips, capacitors, coils, connectors. The technician works under a microscope with a very fine-tipped soldering iron and a hot-air station, to remove, re-solder or replace the faulty component without damaging what surrounds it.
The principle is simple: instead of changing an entire motherboard, we identify the precise part that has failed and repair only that.
The components of a motherboard
Tap a component to see its symbol, its role and its typical fault.
Typical fault:
On which devices?
We repair the circuit boards of these devices:
- smartphones in general, including iPhones;
- tablets of well-known brands, such as Samsung or iPad;
- PCs standard and gaming PCs ;
- MacBook and iMac ;
- televisions (circuit boards);
- and, on laptops, the motherboard remains our speciality: replacement of chips, power components or connectors.
Which faults can micro-soldering fix?
- The device no longer charges or charges intermittently (damaged charging connector, faulty charging component);
- The device no longer switches on after a fall, a power surge or contact with liquid;
- A short circuit makes the board hot or drains the battery abnormally;
- A chip has to be removed and replaced, or 'reflowed' (reheated to redo its solder joints), especially on BGA-type chips;
- A connector soldered to the board has been torn off or worn: charging socket, power connector of a laptop, etc.
Examples of faults on smartphones and tablets
- Liquid damage: cleaning the board and replacing oxidised components;
- Audio: microphone, speaker or audio chip that no longer works;
- Network: loss of signal or Wi-Fi linked to a component on the board;
- Backlight: screen that is on but very dark or black;
- Face ID and sensors: recognition functions that no longer respond;
- Touch buttons and SMD components: replacement of small surface-mounted components.
If the screen is simply broken, see iPhone screen repair in Brussels. For a Samsung that no longer charges or switches on, see Samsung repair in Brussels.
On iPhone, these repairs are common; they also exist on Samsung smartphones and other brands.
On laptops
On a laptop, micro-soldering is used in particular to replace a torn-off power connector (the computer no longer charges) or to diagnose a motherboard that no longer starts.
Not everything can be repaired. Some faults go beyond micro-soldering: internal short circuit between the layers of the board, very advanced liquid damage, a processor or graphics chip that has failed itself, torn-off tracks or pads. That is why a diagnosis always comes before the work: you know before deciding whether the repair is possible.
The micro-solderer's equipment
These tools are at the heart of work on a circuit board. The visuals below are illustrations.
What is your symptom?
General guidance: only a diagnosis confirms the cause.
Micro-soldering or board replacement?
| Criterion | Micro-soldering | Board replacement |
|---|---|---|
| Principle | We repair the faulty component | We replace the entire motherboard |
| Device | The original board is kept | A compatible board is needed |
| Limits | Depends on the extent of the damage | Depending on the device, data on the old board may be lost |

What we repair on a motherboard
Our speciality: laptop motherboards, repaired at component level.
Connectors
HDMI and USB ports, SSD connectors.
Chips and memories
Memories (eMMC, NAND), microcontrollers, Super I/O and other small chips.
BIOS
Programming, dumping, cloning and unlocking, by software or hardware.
Power
Replacement of charging circuits.
The faults we handle
Device that no longer switches on or does not charge, black screen, backlight problem, short circuit due to overload, use or heat.
For oxidation, the chances are low: everything depends on the conditions in which the fault occurred. We give it a chance, without promising a result.
Our method, step by step
- Free diagnosis with no obligation. We look for the fault first.
- Locating. We identify the suspect components or the zone concerned.
- Confirmation. We order the necessary components to confirm that the board can be repaired.
- Price and approval. The price is given to you before any work, and the repair only continues with your approval.
- Repair. We work according to the result of the confirmation.
- Follow-up on WhatsApp. Each step is sent to you, and your file stays open until the end.
- Handing back the device.
Repair refused or impossible
You pay nothing: you get your device back in its original state. If the repair is not accepted, we do not detail the fault: that research work takes a lot of time.
100% confidential
A motherboard contains private data. All the work is done in our workshop, by us, with no third parties or subcontractors. Many customers come from far away on recommendation, and it is for this confidentiality that we are recommended.
Indicative micro-soldering prices in Brussels
Micro-soldering is a technical job that takes time and precision. The price depends on the type of fault, the component concerned and the device. These ranges are indicative; only the diagnosis allows an exact price to be set.
| Type of work | Indicative range | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Charging connector | 60 – 140 € | USB-C, Lightning port, DC connector |
| Power component | 80 – 180 € | MOSFET, coil, charging circuit |
| Backlight | 80 – 150 € | Diode, filter, backlight chip |
| Reballing / BGA chip | 100 – 300 € | Graphics chip (GPU), RAM, controller |
| Liquid damage (cleaning + repair) | 80 – 250 € | Corrosion, oxidation of components |
| BIOS (dump, reprogramming, unlocking) | 60 – 120 € | BIOS password, corrupted chip |
Free diagnosis with no obligation — you pay nothing if the repair is not possible or if you refuse the quote.
Reballing, GPU and ultrasonic cleaning: advanced techniques
Some faults require more advanced techniques than simply re-soldering a component.
BGA chip reballing
Reballing means removing a BGA (Ball Grid Array) chip, cleaning its solder balls and fitting new ones before refitting it. Useful when a graphics chip (GPU), a memory controller or a Wi-Fi chip has faulty contacts.
Faulty graphics chip (GPU)
Black screen, graphical artefacts, PC that crashes under load: the GPU chip may be at fault. We diagnose and, if the chip can be reballed, work at component level to avoid replacing the whole motherboard.
Ultrasonic cleaning
After liquid damage or advanced corrosion, ultrasonic cleaning removes oxidised deposits from the board without risk of damaging the components. It is often the first step before any repair after contact with water.
Liquid damage and corrosion
A device that fell in water or was exposed to moisture can be saved if action is quick. We clean the board, replace oxidised components and test before giving you an honest verdict on feasibility.
A methodical approach
We do not work at random: every repair follows a method, from finding the fault to the final check.
Good to know
Warranty
3 months, 6 months or 1 year depending on the type of work and the condition of the device.
Turnaround
It depends on the fault. For gaming PC boards, up to 4 weeks: the fault is sometimes hard to find and certain components have to be ordered.
Backup
If the device still partly works and risks failing completely, we ask you for a backup before starting.
Outside our speciality
Boards from household appliances (a washing machine, for example) and boilers are not our speciality.
Frequently asked questions about micro-soldering
Is the diagnosis paid?
No, the diagnosis is free and without obligation.
What if my motherboard cannot be repaired?
You pay nothing. We return the device to its original state and you come to collect it.
Can you give me a price right away?
Not before the diagnosis: as long as we are not sure the board can be repaired, we cannot give a reliable price. The price is given to you before the work and nothing is done without your approval.
My device fell in water: can it be repaired?
The chances are low, because everything depends on the conditions in which the fault occurred. We give it a chance, with no guarantee of result.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Nothing is subcontracted: everything is done in our workshop and stays confidential.
Is there a warranty?
Yes: 3 months, 6 months or 1 year, depending on the type of work and the condition of the device.
Do you repair washing machine or boiler boards?
No, that is not our speciality.
How long does the repair take?
It depends on the fault. For a gaming PC motherboard it can take up to 4 weeks. You follow progress on WhatsApp.
Do I need to back up my data first?
If the device partly works, yes: we ask you before starting, in case it fails completely.
