My TV switches on but the screen stays black: is it serious?
Not necessarily. A black screen can come from the backlight, the power supply or an internal board. Only a check can tell.
Is it worth repairing my television?
It depends on the fault and the model. We tell you honestly before you decide.

Good to know before dropping off your TV
What cannot be repaired: a screen broken by an impact (cracked panel, black spots or lines after a knock).
Cleaning: never spray product directly onto the panel: drops run down the edges and reach the electronics. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth.
Recent Samsung QLEDs: on some generations the panel is at fault and the TV restarts in a loop (bootloop). Unfortunately this fault cannot be repaired.
