Samsung no longer charging: the most common causes

- Dirty charging port: dust and pocket lint pack down at the bottom of the port.
- Worn or bent charging port: it no longer holds the cable or no longer passes current.
- Battery at end of life: very short battery life, slow charging, device that heats up.
- Moisture or oxidation: a moisture warning can block charging to protect the device.
- Circuit board: the charging circuit no longer responds even though the port is in good condition.
To try before you come
- Try another cable and another charger, preferably from a known brand.
- Plug into a wall outlet rather than a computer USB port.
- Restart the phone.
- Look at the port with a light: if you see dirt, don’t scrape it with a metal object.
If a moisture warning appears, unplug everything, switch the phone off and don’t plug it back in until it has been examined.

To make the diagnosis quick, bring the phone with its cable and charger. Note since when charging has been a problem, whether the phone has been in water or dropped, and whether charging sometimes works when you move the cable. These details help us pinpoint the fault right from the start.
If your unlock code is useful for testing the device after repair, we will ask you for it. If you prefer not to give it, we test what can be tested.
