  • The phone vibrates or rings, but the screen stays black: damaged screen or cable, especially after a drop.
  • No sign of life: completely drained battery, charging problem or electronic board.
  • Black screen after a liquid: moisture may have reached the screen or the board.
  • Black screen after an update: a forced restart sometimes solves the problem.

To try before you come

  • Charge the phone for 30 minutes with a cable in good condition.
  • Do a forced restart (the combination depends on the brand: Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo…).
  • Call the number: if it rings, the device works and the screen is the main suspect.

If the screen stays black, do not force it: a wrong move can damage the internal cables.
